Few sportsmen have made
such an indelible impact on the fast moving worlds of
motorcycle and car racing as the legendary MIKE HAILWOOD™.
The son of a millionaire who bought him the best machinery
that money could buy, he quickly cast aside the 'rich
man's kid' image which had been thrust upon him to earn
the respect and admiration of his peers through the
enormity of his talent, the strength of his personality
and his outrageous sense of fun.
He won nine motorcycle World Championships
between 1961 and 1967, then turned to motor racing,
following in the wheel tracks of John Surtees, with
whose cars he became European Formula 2 Champion and
began his Formula 1 career. In time he might well have
added a Formula 1 World Championship to his list of
achievements, but his motor racing career ended abruptly
in 1974 when he crashed his McLaren on Germany's daunting
Nurburgring.
Disabled by his leg injuries, he retired to New Zealand,
where he quickly became bored, and by 1978, at the age
of 38, he was back at the Isle of Man, the scene of
so many of his earlier triumphs, not only to race bikes
once again, but to take on and beat the entire field.
His victorious return to 'The Island' has been described
as one of the most emotional moments of 20th century
sport.

portrait of Mike as he was in 1968. From
it, she has produced a Limited Edition
of only 100 prints. They are size A3 (42cm
x 30cm) and printed on a heavy 300gsm
Fine Art Etch paper.

NCR
- Mike Hailwood TT Replica Unveiled
Pauline & Dave Hailwood and
NCR are extremely pleased to announce the new
NCR Mike Hailwood TT replica motorcycle.
Pauline and Dave were the proud
guests of Michele Poggipolini CEO of the Bologna
based NCR factory at the unveiling of the new
machine at the EICMA motorcycle exhibition in
Milan, Italy on Tuesday 4th November.
They had been given a preview
by Mr Poggipolini, his family and team, in Bologna
prior to the exhibition and were overwhelmed
at the design, and extremely high quality of
this fabulous new bike. The sight of it brought
tears to Pauline’s eyes and she and Dave
agreed that this beautiful machine was the most
perfect tribute to Mike that they could have
hoped for.
Whilst retaining reminders of
the original Isle of Man TT winning 1978 NCR/Ducati,
this new machine has the very latest technology
including the suspension that will be used in
next years Moto GP bikes. As NCR are specialists
in high quality metals, manufacturing parts
for Ferrari F1 and Aerospace, much of the bike
is made from Titanium making it extremely light
but extremely strong.
This new masterpiece doesn’t
